Brad Matthew Abley’s mission in life is to daily be with God and out of that relationship to be His blessing to everyone he comes into contact with.
Professionally, he serves as the Senior Pastor of South Hills Community Church in San Jose, CA.
He also served as the Campus Pastor, Director of Spiritual Formation and Adjunct Professor of New Testament Foundations and Church History at Bethany University in Scotts Valley, CA.
He is the author of four books under the series A Heart After God Bible Study Series with commentaries on Revelation; Romans; Ephesians and Philippians (Xulon Press). These studies are designed primarily for the layperson to help the reader to go deeper into God’s Word.
He graduated with a Master of Divinity from Regent University in 1992 and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from San Jose State University in 1983.
He has pastored churches in Campbell, CA; San Jose, CA; Dale City, VA and Albany, New York and served for three years with the Christian Broadcasting Network as a chaplain to CBN’s Major Donors in the San Francisco/San Jose Bay Area and in Hawaii.
He taught the Life of Christ for William Jessup University for two years and Paul and Spiritual Development, Church History (twice) and New Testament Foundations (twice) as an adjunct professor at Bethany University in Scotts Valley, CA.
Brad has preached and taught in Mexico, New Zealand, Israel, India, Bangladesh, Taiwan, England and Turkey and done leadership training for pastors in Belgium.
He has been married to his best friend and ministry partner, Maureen, since 1983. His favorite verses are Ps. 16:11 and 2 Tim. 4:7.
Besides Biblical studies, Theology, Church History and Spiritual Leadership, his other interests are English and American history, public policy, politics and current events and baseball, basketball and football.
He is a huge fan of Hillsong and Hillsong United music and Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Handel and Haydn. He and Maureen love to go for walks in the park and on the beach in Carmel and they ride their bikes together as often as they can!
