Father, through Your power I choose to look at anyone who is not my spouse through Your eyes.

If You have not given a woman (man) to me in marriage, I choose to honor You and that woman (man) by esteeming that one as You do; created in Your image and according to Your likeness.

I will look at and think upon that woman (man) as either my sister (brother) in Christ or as a potential sister (brother) in Christ as Jesus would — with purity of heart and mind.

I will look at and think upon that woman (man) as I would want another man (woman) to think of my own wife, sister or daughter (husband, brother or son): not in lustful passion but in honor and dignity.

When I am tempted toward fantasizing towards another woman (man), I will immediately use that temptation as an opportunity to pray for that woman’s (man’s) salvation – or if the person is already saved – to ask You to cause that one to hunger and to thirst for You.

Lord Jesus, Your Word warns me: “The eye is the lamp of the body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness.  Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness” (Luke 11:34-35).

I choose today to be pure and holy, blameless and innocent before You; to love what You love and hate what You hate.  Pornography is demonic idolatry; help me never to think of another human being as an object of my own personal, private desire but instead, as belonging to You.

I belong to You, Lord; help me to steer clear of anything or anyone that would cause me to stumble and instead to find my satisfaction in You alone, in Jesus’ name, amen.
